ABOUT TC LIFONTI

Anthony C. LiFonti was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1975, the second son and middle child of Anthony and Phyllis LiFonti.  As a young child, growing up on the far west side of the city, LiFonti was raised near his grandparents, each of whom had a major impact on his life.  At age seven, his family moved to Lombard, Illinois, where he would grow up, go to school, compete in athletics, and meet some of the most impactful people in his life.  

Graduating from Glenbard East High School in 1993, LiFonti would attend North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, where he would earn degrees in Creative Writing and English Literature and a minor in Secondary Education and forge some of his strongest relationships.  Additionally, LiFonti was a four-year letter winner in both wrestling and football for the Cardinals, as well as having served two two years on the college's Athletic Advisory Board while he wrote off and on for the college's newspaper.  In his fifth year, he was on staff as an assistant wrestling coach while continuing his writing and completing his student teaching.  In 2002, LiFonti would earn a master's degree from North Central in Educational Curriculum and Instruction and, in 2014, he would earn another degree in physical education.

After he graduated in 1998, he accepted a teaching position at Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois, before he took his current job at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, Illinois, the following school year.  LiFonti has taught a variety of courses and has coached both wrestling and football in his tenure at North--currently, LiFonti only coaches wrestling. 

In 2012, LiFonti married and he and his wife have three chidlren.
 
Aside from a few poems and some miscellaneous articles in a variety of magazines and journals, LiFonti teamed up with NFL All-Pro cornerback Charles Tillman, formally of the Chicago Bears and  the Carolina Panthers, in 2013 for a series of five children books.  For each book sold, a portion of the proceeds directly benefits the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation and helps critically and chronically ill children and their families.  For more information on the foundation, please visit the website at: www.charlestillman.org.

On 25 August 2017, LiFonti released the biography of 2014 NCAA Wrestling Champion from the University of Iowa and two-time United States World Team Member and Olympic Hopeful, Tony Ramos.

A MAN OF DUTY

This is a World War II love story predicated on the journey of a young man from Chicago who is drafted into the army and thrown into the second Great War.  Upon his life at war, he will eventually meet the woman he wants to marry; however, he first has to win over her father and, more importantly, return from the war alive.

The story is one of love, duty, and commitment.
